Eddie Paton

Versatile guitarist, singer, songwriter & composer, Eddie Paton is an award winning musician who thrives on his eclectic career.  He is a co-founder of the critically acclaimed music project ReDuX:RMx, and is a member of the JUNO nominated group Sultans of String.  Eddie is most well known as a Latin guitarist and has also recorded and worked with many Rock, Funk, Jazz and Pop acts.  

 

A classically trained guitarist, Eddie studied on full scholarship at UWO with renowned guitarist Stefan Rak.  He has toured North America, the British Isles & the Middle East with Sultans of String, Robert Michaels and Johannes Linstead and appears on a number of major and independent cd releases.  Eddie along with his ReDuX:RMx partner Bret Menezes co-wrote the score to the Sea World Australia show Pirates Unleashed. He is a latin category winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and a finalist in the International Songwriting Contest.

 

The newest album by Sultans of String is titled Subcontinental Drift, Eddie continues to perform with this world music group in the large ensemble.  The Paton/Menezes composition Palmas was featured on the Sultans of String album Symphony!, it was re-recorded for this album and titled Palmas Synfonia.

 

Eddie recently combined with French chanteuse Cloé Bernard on an album titled Rendez-vous.  This acoustic adult contemporary singer/songwriter album features both English and French songs that fuse latin, jazz, folk and pop influences.

 

Eddie’s new instrumental guitar album is nearing completion.  This project combines latin, rock and electronica elements with songs written by Eddie and his ReDuX:RMx partner Bret Menezes.
